Description:
Dr. Charles Huff arrived in Jackson Hole in 1913 to be the area’s first doctor. He was a productive and influential member of the community and established St. John’s hospital, the water and sewer works, and served as mayor for several terms. In 1917, Dr. Huff’s home was constructed from local rough-cut lumber -- the dining room floor is the original maple -- and it served as his offices. (Dr. Huff performed surgeries in what is now the Alan Ladd Room and carried patients upstairs to recuperate.) For many years, the Huff house was the largest and finest home in the valley.
Huff House Inn sits on a one-acre property located 1½ blocks east of the historic and charming Jackson Town Square and first-rate restaurants, galleries, attractions, and shops. The Inn has two guest bedrooms in the 6,200 square-foot Arts & Crafts main house and four beautifully appointed and romantic cabins nestled on the grounds within Aspens and Cottonwoods; all rooms have large, private baths. The Huff is an easy walk from the 25,000-acre National Elk Refuge (with stunning views of the Grand Tetons) and Snow King Ski Resort, and a short drive from skiing at Teton Village. Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are minutes north. The regional airport, served by major airlines, is just outside Town. The Huff House Inn is near numerous summer and winter outdoor activities and the spectacular settings that make Jackson Hole a unique destination.
