Historic brick farmhouse located in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the heart of Valle Crucis, N.C.--15 minutes from the towns of Boone, Blowing Rock, and Banner Elk. Alta Vista features a fine art gallery downstairs and B & B rooms upstairs with designer decor, featuring antiques, queen-size beds, fresh flowers, and private tiled baths. Guests are served breakfast consisting of such treats as Breakfast Quiche, Cinnamon French Toast, or a Southern Country Breakfast - and always fresh hot coffee, fresh fruit salads and home-baked muffins. Homemade cookies are available each afternoon with cold or hot beverages. After breakfast or afternoon snacks, guests can enjoy a leisurely stroll in the Valle Crucis Community Park across the street, bordering the Watauga River and surrounded by mountains. Alta Vista is also near the original Mast General Store (on National Register of Historic Places), Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls/Caverns, the Appalachian Trail, the ski resorts of Beech, Sugar, Appalachian, and Hawknest; Appalachian State University, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and numerous hiking trials. Area activities include hiking, skiing, golfing, fly fishing, horseback riding, theatre and music performances, or just relaxing in the purple rockers on Alta Vista's front porch overlooking the valley.
