Description:

One of the favorite rooms at the Inn, "Heaven to Betsy", features cozy sloped ceilings, skylights, and a “cherubic decor". Other storybook-themed guest rooms at the Blue Belle include "Sleeping Beauty", "NeverNeverland" and "Sherwood Forest", all of which are decorated with nostalgic mementos, original quilts, needlework, and artwork. "The Secret Garden" was recently refurbished with a trellis headboard embellished with iridescent sweeps of lace, wisteria and vines. "On the Banks of Plum Creek", newly christened with a lighted canopy of vines, berries, and antique blue crystals, remains popular with overnight guests. Two rooms feature private whirlpools for two, fireplaces with gas logs, and king sized beds. The dining area of the 105 year old property is highlighted by a maple banister, stained glass, lofty tin ceilings with ornate moldings, and eight foot maple pocket doors. The Blue Belle’s vintage crystal chandeliers and leaded glass prisms provide a romantic backdrop for wedding ceremonies, family and class reunions, and delicious meals. Midwest Living magazine called The Blue Belle "Iowa's Romantic Inn" in an article featuring the horse-drawn sleigh rides hosted at the Inn each winter. The Blue Belle has been featured in Country Home, American Quilting, Country, The Iowan, and AAA Home and Away magazines, and on HGTV's Restore America.
