The Fairfield Inn
Description:
With origins dating to 1757, The Fairfield Inn is an authentic American Treasure and offers all the charm one would expect from a small luxury hotel. Built 19 years before the Declaration of Independence, the Inn has hosted many distinguished guests including Patrick Henry, Thaddeus Stevens, Generals Robert E. Lee and J.E.B. Stuart and the Eisenhowers. The Inn has been used as a Colonial Meeting House, a Civil War Field Hospital, for the Underground Railroad and as a Stagecoach Stop. An extensive renovation was begun in 2003 and will be completed in 2004. After the Battle of Gettysburg, the Confederate Army retreated West through Fairfield, stopping at the Inn. After touring the Battlefield, we invite you to retreat to our style of history and hospitality.
