romantic/peaceful get a way
on a scale of 1 - 5 i would give this place a 5 on beauty, comfort, charm, and a great host. but on the breakfast and hors d'oeuvres a 1. the american river inn is absolutely gorgeous. it's just to bad it's a bit out of the way. the closest larger cities are about 13 windy miles a way. the cost of staying there is extremely inexpensive to other inns of this quality. my husband and i have paid $150 to $200 a night more at other inns. and they will allow small dogs to stay.
