Have a massage on premises in the holistic health wing and retire to your room for an afternoon nap, or sit on the beach a block and a half away, or relax in your private white onyx whirlpool tub for two or take afternoon tea in a corner of the spacious gardens. This large Georgian house with a colonnaded hibiscus-filled front veranda sits well back from the street in an uncrowded residential neighborhood on nearly two-acres of secluded land adjacent to a protected segment of the old George Washington Trail. Each of the 5 guest rooms is furnished in classic Scandinavian simplicity from the family collection of rare furniture, antiques and prints. The rose garden cottage with its own entry is an architectural delight and offers a fairy-tale rapture of warm wood and rich marble in bed and bath along with a private kitchenette. Ten-grain buttermilk pancakes from the family's California restaurant, French Toast made with homemade bread, or organic egg dishes cooked with fresh herbs that day from the garden, are some of the offerings at the exclusive breakfast made only for guests. Cake and tea or wine is served in the late afternoon. The famous white sand beach of the Grand Strand which extends for 60 miles is a five-minute walk away. Convenient to the airport for international travelers with free shuttle service.
